When buying from a Japanese exporter, often you will see only certain payment methods are allowed. The reason exporters, such as our trusted partners, only accept certain forms of payment is because of fraud against the exporter.

You may be surprised and are saying, “What!!? I thought it was the exporters I had to be careful giving money to? How can an exporter be cheated?”. The truth is there is more legitimate exporters being cheated into shipping vehicles that money promised for never comes in. When that happens, either the car is completely lost or the added expense of having to pay for return shipping makes it also very unprofitable.

So how do exporters get cheated? Well, basically there are certain ways of paying that can be revoked, or taken back, by the one who purchases. The fraudster may make “a payment” and then when he get the car, revokes the purchase. So, for example, we do not accept payment in International Cheques because there is a way into being scammed in this method.

Currently, our exporting partners accept two methods of payment:

T/T also called Direct (Bank) Transfer

Irrevocable LC payable-at-sight

Eventually, there may be additional options such as Western Union money transfers for those who are unable to use the above methods, but ultimately trade security is in the interest of both the seller and buyer. Both must be honest, fair, trustworthy, and deliver as promised.

As far as other payment related polices, we will ship cars if at least 50% of the total costs are paid as deposit. To release you the documents, the remaining 50% must be paid within 10 days.

If you have any questions, please post something in the comments below or contact from our website www.JCarBuys.com.

In Japan there are many dealers and exporters selling “stock”. This means that they are directly selling you the car rather than being simply an auction agent. Buying stock has many benefits to the customer.

First benefit would be that it is much more quicker than buying from auctions. At auctions, you get your hopes up about getting a particular car, then someone bids higher than you or you don’t quite meet the reserved price and you never see that car again. Sometimes people have the misfortune of missing out on a number of cars before they can buy one at the auctions. Not with stock. As soon as you place a 50% deposit, the car is reserved for you. Pay the other half within 10 days, and that car will be yours.

Another big benefit for stock is that the dealer/exporter most likely has possession or access to the car. If you as the customer would like more details on a car, the dealer/exporter will more likely be able to give a good answer. Auction cars on the other hand cannot be view till the morning of the auction which really limits the exporter’s time to examine the car. And before auction day, the exporter usually doesn’t know much more than you. Auctions do provide inspection sheets for cars, but that isn’t the same as having the car in front of you.

The third major benefit to stock is the price given is the priced asked for. No bidding, no auction fees, just the car is xzy yen FOB Japan and add zyx yen for Shipping and Insurance. Everything else (transport within Japan fees, exporter’s fee, deregistration fee, etc.) is already included into the price. The asking price that you see on the website is FOB Japan, plain and simple.

As you can see, there are powerful reasons why you should be interested in buying stock. One smaller benefit is having more photos to view (usually). Auctions on give a front and back view, but stock also give other views such as inside, engine, trunk, and more.

Regardless of where you are coming from, buying stock is an excellent alternative to buying from auctions. Please visit www.JCarBuys.com where you can view many stock cars available from us and our partners.

In Japan, there are two main ways to buy Japanese domestic second-hand vehicles. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but are still excellent ways for people to get cars even if they are not in Japan.

Buying Stock

First is what they call Stock. Stock cars are ones that can be directly bought from a dealer by a customer. This is an excellent way to do business if you don’t have much time because all you need to is make sure it is the quality car you want and is at the right price. If you like the car, you just contact the dealer/exporter, pay them according to their terms, and we’ll ship the car and documents to you.

Stock is also good because you will be able to get answers to your direct questions. When you by stock, the dealer/exporter has access to the car and can makes sure the quality of the car before it is shipped. This particularly useful since you don’t need to put money down to know the exact condition of the car.

Buying from Auctions

In Japan, most used cars at some point of their life end up at an Japanese auto auction. There are many auction sites (we have access to the largest 95 auctions) throughout Japan. At auto auctions, dealers and exporters can trade with each other competitively. Individual customers are not allowed in, but you can use our special on-line access system to view what is being sold.

The advantages of buying from auto auctions is that there are more choice (over 40,000 cars available each week), you can find better deals, and you are more likely to find obscure models at the auction.

At the Japanese AA, we at JCarBuys will have our ground agents bid for a car of your choice for your the price you want. We will provide you data for the car on its specifications and condition before you bid. Then, at the auto auction we will double check the car to be in the condition you read.

Welcome to our new blog for JCarBuys.

Japanese used car exporting has become a popular way for people to get hold of cars they want for whatever reason. Some people buy them because they are really cheap yet in good condition, making it much better of a choice over buying locally. Some people import because they’d like to have a car from Japan that they can buy locally. Finally, some people buy from Japan to get a luxury item that is the easiest and cheapest to get from the Japanese exporters.

Whatever the reason is, we know one thing: Japan is a gateway for car shoppers to find the car they want and we at JCarBuys are your connection. At a competitive rate we’ll connect you to a car you can enjoy in your nation. Whether you want one car or a fleet of cars, from Japanese auto auctions or stock cars, we can deliver.
